We are pleased to inform you that appointments are now available for our Dry Eye Clinic at The Kersley Eye Clinic. Our specialist clinic is designed to provide a detailed assessment and personalised treatment plan for patients experiencing dry eye symptoms.
What Happens During Your Dry Eye Clinic Appointment?
Your visit will include:
A detailed Dry Eye diagnostic scan to assess the health of your tear film and glands
A comprehensive consultation with our Dry Eye Consultant, Ms Siobhan Wren
Following your assessment, Ms Wren will discuss the findings with you and recommend the most appropriate next steps to help manage your condition. This may include a personalised treatment plan or, where suitable, a recommendation for IPL therapy.
Please note that not all patients are suitable candidates for IPL treatment. Suitability will be determined during your consultation based on your specific eye condition and skin type.
What is IPL?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) therapy is an advanced treatment used to manage dry eye conditions associated with:
Meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)
Lacrimal gland dysfunction
Inflammatory skin and eyelid conditions such as rosacea and blepharitis
At The Kersley Eye Clinic, we use C.STIM® IPL technology, an advanced system designed to provide a safe, comfortable, effective, and long-lasting treatment for most skin types.
The treatment involves applying gentle pulses of light to the cheek area, which helps to:
Stimulate the parasympathetic nerve responsible for gland function and support gland metabolism
Reduce skin inflammation by targeting small blood vessels, which can indirectly improve eyelid inflammation and dry eye symptoms

Detailed Dry Eye Scan
A 45-minute consultation with Ms Wren
Any prescribed eye drops or medication provided during your visit
IPL Treatment Course
A full course includes four treatments, scheduled 7–15 days apart.
For the best results, it is important to follow the treatment schedule and avoid sun exposure or tanning products during the treatment period.

IPL appointments are available on Thursdays between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.
